The Madson family decided to start this project in honor of the captain of their team, Sherri Madson. Sherri was diagnosed Stage Four Liver Cancer in February of 2018, she has fought valiantly and continued to serve others in the community and her school throughout her battle.
Sherri is a mother of 5 children, 3 in law children, and a grandmother to 9. She was married to her sweetheart of 37 years, Greg Madson. She served dutifully in the community and in her church. She loved to serve and have others share in the giving spirit. Her attitude was infectious and she would get everyone involved with a smile and a cheerful laugh. Sherri had a way with making everyone feel valued and cared for, she was the light in their day.
Sherri Madson taught as an Elementary School Teacher for 18 years and a Middle School Counselor for 6 years. She valued education beyond measure and had a passion for teaching and creating meaningful experiences for her students.
Sherri was passionate that no student should go without the essentials needed while attending school. She was the adviser for the HOPE Squad at Box Elder Middle School and would have her students in this club help her in a variety of service projects. One that really stuck with her is helping students get supplies needed, such as: shoes, pants, coats, backpacks, school supplies, etc. She was a leader in the school clothing drive, as well as funding new clothing items for students as well. We are also going to provide a scholarship to one Box Elder and one Bear River High School graduating senior.
We have decided to take her sunshine and continue to share it, we hope that you will consider donating to the Madson Foundation and helping a student in need. We would love to have you donate whatever you are able to, All funds will be donated to help students fund the things that they need. Thank you for considering helping us to spread Sherri's love and vision.
